Thurles
Golf Club

This club ranks 5th out of the 451 clubs in our system.

The initial affiliation to the Golfing Union was in 1909. Turtulla however was instantly seen as the ideal location for the club's next and final abode. The laying out of the new course on this prime parkland was entrusted to Mr J. McMlister. Making best use of the terrain, his design has stood the test of time and judicious tree planting has ensured that each hole has its own individual character. The four excellent par 3 holes are particularly noteworthy. Thurles is today a well-respected test of golf and host to national and provincial championships at many levels.
1 mile south of Thurles Town on the N62.

A good challenge. the front nine is new and in good condition. The small things could be done better: Paths could be a little neater, bins on tee boxes could be hidden and seating on tee boxes could be less cheap looking.
The course is a good test and the greens are good. Worth a trip
