Ardglass
Golf Club

This club ranks 9th out of the 451 clubs in our system.

Situated on the south-east coast of County Down, Ardglass is unquestionably one of the most spectacular courses in Ireland. Essentially the course meanders its way out to a headland and then meanders its way back. The first five holes are truly memorable and run right alongside the sea. The par three 2nd (Howd's Hole) is many people's favourite and many people's undoing - with the tee shot needing to be fired across a rocky inlet, it is a real death-or-glory hole and somewhat reminiscent of the 3rd at Tralee. "At only 158 yards it may not be as damaging to the score card as 'Calamity' at Portrush but it nevertheless comes with a health warning" (Golf World). A second magnificent par three is the downhill 12th where the Irish Sea can provide a daunting diversion and when the wind is dead against it can be truly intimidating. The final hole however, offers a good chance of a closing birdie and then its off to the 19th which being Ardglass is a converted ancient castle.

Excellent course always in great condition. The three new holes expand an already tough course. You need to have alot of different shots in the bag to have a good round. Always welcomed by members both on the course and in club, well worth the money for an enjoyable days golf and craic.

travelled north with my 3 friends recently to take on the much talked about ardglass. like a beautiful woman she seduced us on day one. many pars and even a few birdies were made we even fed the friendly fox that followed us for a few holes. steaks and pints followed and talk of the great course we just played and looking forward to tomorrow. WOW. no birds. no pars. no fox.the beautiful lady we met yesterday changed her personality and almost blew us off the course. Ardglass you won this time but we're coming back.

Excellent course, with some outstanding views. Could benefit from extra tee markers (finding the next tee box was difficult at times). Will definitely be going back!
