Excellent greens and the final six holes are stunning! When the first 6 holes mature it will be an amazing course. Great par 3's too. |

The reviews of this course, on this website and elsewhere, set expectations that are probably somewhat over-exuberant.
To quote Eamonn Dunphy, this is a good course, not a great course. Given time, and money (!) however, it will mature into a good layout.
On the plus side, the course conditioning was superb when we played. It is extremely well-drained, surely the best parkland drainage in the country.
The layout has a number of superb holes along with a lot of very ordinary holes. The result is a slightly unsatisfying mix of bland, wide open holes and holes in super natural wooded settings. The par 3s are top-notch.
There are very good practice facilities with the range adjacent to the first tee, although the range balls are pricey !!
The clubhouse is standard Celtic Tiger fare (very nice but slightly pretentious at the same time). The staff in the restaurant and pro-shop were friendly and eager to assist (the cynic would say they have to be these days!), the food was good.
The green fee was 35 euro on the day, which made it good value, but there are many other courses with similar offerings these days.
For those who remember the old days and that magical feeling of heading to Mt Juliet for a day of fun and frolics, you will not get that here BUT it is a good course nonetheless. |

i am very disappointed with this course. i recently played here and it just does not live up to the hype at all. anyone who has played in any of the "top" courses will realise very quickly that this is not one. not one, not two, but three greens were unplayable. they looked like they were burnt completely. either way there is only about 6 holes that are of decent standard.bunkers are not in keeping with the course. over all it does not seem well maintained, unlike what the brochure suggested. if you ask my opinion, dont bother, i wont again. |

This place definitely looks the part with the long drive from the gates to the clubhouse and you cannot help but be impressed as you get out of your car. The course is in great condition but generally not too difficult other than a couple of holes. The lift is a bit of a let down and a pointless exercise as you still have a bit of a walk from it to the 18th teebox. I would recommend golfers to see this place and get buggies as quite a few long walks from green to next tee box. Its not worth the full price they are currently asking for but they do have some special offers. The only major negative from my experience was the service of the bargirl on that day(24th May), she was extremely unpolite and should not be serving customers in my opinion. Her attitude caused my fourball to leave without ordering food as it seemed to be too much trouble for her to take our order in a reasonable and polite manner. |
